Cynthia Council is an emerging regional artist who began her formal art training in 2002. Prior to that, she painted for fun and for self-expression. Council has traveled extensively around the world, lending her a broad viewpoint of life which is apparent in her artwork. Each of Council's paintings tells a story, unfolding for the viewer on the canvas in vivid colors and imagery. Council says of her artistic process, "Painting provides a means to explore an inner reality. Painting captures the Utopian society that I imagine and helps me to convey not only what I see, but also what I feel. I express these experiences through narrative abstracts."

Very early in her training, she began showing her art and winning juried exhibitions and awards. She is currently a member of both the Thomasville Cultural Center Artists Guild and the Southern Artists League. To read more about Council's background, please refer to her resume page.
